Our Opioid Prevention Program is research-informed, interactive, and designed to promote open dialogue. Students will learn the science and history of America’s Opioid epidemic. They will review risk factors for access and addiction. Students will review resources for support, peer pressure, and the impact of addiction on life trajectories.
Mental Health & Coping (2022-2023)
Students will learn the difference between mental health and illness while also learning about the prevalence of mental illness among teens, strategies for managing feelings, thoughts, and actions, when to seek help and how to best provide support.
Prevention Speaker (2022-2023)
Prevention speakers address consequences, decision-making, peer pressure, coping skills, and the progression of addiction from experimentation to abuse and recovery by sharing their lived experience.
Goggles Experiential (2022-2023)
This experiential will amplify impairments that result from the consumption of alcohol, marijuana or opioids. Sparking discussions on driving under the influence, legal, social and academic consequences. Students will also discuss the consequences of use and the challenges of peer refusal.
